I’m a Master of Urban Studies student at Simon Fraser University, working toward an Advanced Certificate in GIS at BCIT. My research asks whether small-scale upzoning under BC’s Bill 44 produces rental housing that local renters in Surrey can actually afford. The work uses pro forma modelling, a difference-in-differences analysis of land values, and interviews with developers and planning staff.
Before that I spent a term at the Agricultural Land Commission auditing land-use applications and mapping where farmland is quietly disappearing.
